Wolf's dual-stacked sealed burners are engineered for precise, even flame distribution. When flames become uneven or irregular, cooking performance suffers and the issue should be addressed.

The most common cause of uneven flame is clogged burner ports. Food debris, grease, and in Phoenix, fine desert dust can block individual ports, causing the flame to be higher in some areas than others.

To clean burner ports, remove the burner cap and use a straight pin or fine wire to clear each port individually. Never use a toothpick, as broken pieces can worsen the clog.

Check that the burner cap is properly seated on the burner base. Wolf's precision-machined caps must align exactly with the base for proper gas distribution around the entire burner.

Yellow or orange flames instead of blue indicate incomplete combustion. This can be caused by incorrect gas pressure, clogged air shutters, or problems with the gas supply.

Gas pressure must be calibrated for your specific installation. Phoenix's elevation of 1,100 feet requires different pressure settings than sea-level installations. Have your gas pressure verified annually.

The dual-stacked design means both the inner and outer burner rings must function correctly. If only one ring is producing flames, the burner assembly or gas valve may need service.

Spills that reach beneath the burner cap can affect both flame quality and ignition. Clean up spills promptly and perform thorough cleaning under burner caps monthly.

If cleaning doesn't resolve uneven flames, the burner assembly itself may need replacement. Wolf burners are designed for long life but eventually wear from repeated heating and cooling cycles.
