Wolf ventilation hoods are engineered to handle the high heat and smoke from professional-grade cooking equipment. Maintaining clean filters is essential for optimal performance.

Wolf hoods use stainless steel baffle filters rather than mesh screens. These baffles are more effective at capturing grease and are designed for easy maintenance.

Remove baffle filters monthly for cleaning. Most Wolf baffle filters are dishwasher-safe. Place them on the bottom rack and run a heavy-duty cycle with a degreasing detergent.

For hand washing, soak filters in hot water with a degreasing dish soap for 15-20 minutes. Use a soft brush to remove stubborn grease deposits. Rinse thoroughly and air dry.

Never use abrasive cleaners or steel wool on baffle filters. These can damage the stainless steel finish and reduce the filter's grease-capturing effectiveness.

In Phoenix, dust combines with cooking grease to create particularly stubborn filter buildup. You may need to clean filters more frequently than monthly during dusty periods.

Check the fan motor and blower housing annually. Grease that passes the filters accumulates on fan blades and in the housing, reducing airflow and increasing noise.

Replace halogen or LED lights when they dim. Proper task lighting is important for cooking safely and effectively at your Wolf range.

If your Wolf hood has a remote blower installation, ensure the ductwork connections remain tight. Desert temperature swings can loosen duct joints over time.
